Embracing Community through Faith

A historic opportunity has opened in Kilmore, Victoria: to convert and restore a heritage-listed church building at 25 Powlett Street into a fully functional mosque and Community Centre that serves the growing Muslim community in the region. We invite you to partner in this sadaqa‑i câriye so that generations can pray, learn Qur’ân, and gather for Jumu‘ah in a house of Allah.
“Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise.” (Narrated by Uthman bin Affan)

Islam rests upon five pillars of faith that shape the heart and connect each day to the remembrance of God through action and service. While there is much more to being a Muslim than these five pillars alone, Islam is built upon them, and every Muslim—one who submits to the will of God—must honour and uphold their obligations.
“Lā ilāha illā Allāh, Muḥammadun rasūl Allāh.”
“There is nothing worthy of worship other than God, and Muhammad is God’s Messenger.”
This vow is Islam’s foundation. It centers life on one Loving Creator and invites a person to walk in the Prophet’s example—truthful, compassionate, and sincere

The five daily prayers are the second pillar of Islam and the heart’s daily meeting with Allah. They are fard (obligatory) at their appointed times:

Giving to charity, which is a compulsory tax of a percentage of one's wealth to benefit the poor, needy and destitute.

The fifth and final pillar of Islam, is the sacred pilgrimage to Mecca. It is required once in a lifetime for Muslims who are physically and financially able to.

The meaning of life is to know your Creator, Allah, with a heart full of love and awe; to worship and submit to Him sincerely; to live on this earth as His servant and caretaker; and to journey through every test of character and action seeking His pleasure—so that, by His mercy, this brief life becomes a path to eternal success in the Hereafter.
